Celebrating National Voter Registration Day - 2024

Dear NOMA New Mexico family,

As we approach the 2024 US Presidential Election, we write to remind you of the importance of your participation in this electoral process, and the critical role that this participation plays in sustaining a healthy democracy. We also write to remind you of the extraordinary efforts exerted by previous generations to ensure both access to and protection of this right to engage in the electoral process. With this in mind, NOMA New Mexico urges all who are eligible to both register to vote, and to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming election.

The mission of NOMA New Mexico revolves around the celebration of our state’s diverse communities, and the empowerment of our minority groups to cater to the needs of our communities through advocacy, design excellence and targeted acts of service. Your participation in the electoral process provides the opportunity to both assess and empower the leaders and policies that will shape the futures of these communities.

This is your opportunity to remind yourself of the issues that matter most to you, whether they be related to equity and inclusivity of the built environment, environmental stewardship, social justice, economic opportunities, or the innumerable other matters that affect and intertwine with our lives and professions. We encourage you to take the time to become informed on the candidates and the measures that will be present on your ballot, and to understand the impact that they will have on the issues that matter to you, your family and your community.

Consider the options available for participation in the voting process – whether early, or on Election Day – and determine which works best for you. Voting options include Absentee Voting by Mail. Note that the last day to request an absentee ballot for the 2024 General Election is Tuesday, October 22, 2024. You may also vote early in-person, instead of voting by mail. In New Mexico, you may vote early in-person up to 28 days before the election. Early voting ends on the Saturday before Election Day. Of course, you can also plan to cast your vote on Election Day, November 5, 2024.

Please feel free to use the resources below to explore the answers to other questions that you might have regarding the voting process. Let’s take advantage of this valuable opportunity to craft the future that we want to see for ourselves and our communities.
